Zirahuen 2023
Lago de Zirahuén is located within what is called the Tarascan Neovolcanic Subprovince or Tarascan Corridor, a segment of the Neovolcanic Axis of Mexico in which the lakes of Pátzcuaro and Cuitzeo are also located . The lake lies at an elevation of about 6,800 feet and has a depth up to 230 feet. Being in an isolated valley, surrounded by a dense pine-oak forest , one of the main economic activities is tourism . In recent years, rustic cabins that welcome visitors in search of tranquility have proliferated.
